With BJ Daniels injured two weeks ago against UConn, the South Florida Bulls have staged a two week quarterback battle between Bobby Eveld, who has redshirted all season and has not played since 2011, and Matt Floyd, who has been the backup this season but so far has only attempted 10 passes in 2012, completing 4 of them. With a game at Miami today, South Florida needs to win just to avoid being eliminated from bowl contention. That's to say nothing of helping Skip Holtz get off the hot seat.
According to Greg Auman of the Tampa Bay Times, the Bulls have decided that the situation is dire enough that they'll remove the redshirt from Eveld and he'll start at Miami today.
Looks like USF will take redshirt off junior Bobby Eveld and start him at QB today vs. Miami. He led Bulls to overtime win here in 2010.
