Temple Running Over Army 28-10 At Half

The Temple Owls are visiting Michie Stadium at West Point today to face the Army Black Knights.

The Owls (3-6, 2-4) lead the all-time series 5‐4, including a 42-14 victory last Nov. 19 at Lincoln Financial Field. Temple fell 34-10 at home to Cincinnati last week.

Army (2-8) concludes its home schedule today by honoring 22 seniors. The Black Knights are coming off a 28-7 loss at Rutgers. The score was tied at 7-7 in the fourth quarter, but RU scored three unanswered touchdowns to win going away.

Temple took an early 14-0 lead on a pair of Matt Brown touchdown runs (12 and 35 yards) in the first quarter. Army answered in the second quarter on a seven-yard run by Trent Steelman.

The Black Knights pulled off a nifty onside kick following the touchdown but could not capitalize. Temple's Matt Brown pulled a hamstring on the ensuing punt return and headed to the locker room.

Larry Dixon broke a 37-yard run for Army midway through the second quarter leading to an Eric Osteen field goal of the same length. Temple's Montel Harris ran 60 yards for a touchdown during the next possession and later had a 43-yard run. He scored again on a two-yard run with less than a minute remaining before the half.
