If the current Big East Conference were to expand to 12 schools, it would likely not happen until after 5 years of the current Big East. If and when they expand by two schools, one will assuredly be an Eastern school as the Eastern members (Georgetown, Providence, Seton Hall, St. John's, and Villanova) would not want to be outnumbered by Midwestern members (Butler, Creighton, DePaul, Marquette, and Xavier). I think Saint Louis University would be the Midwestern school as the University of Dayton is very close to Xavier. No Philadelphia school would be allowed by Villanova. I think College of the Holy Cross (Worcester, MA, invited to original Big East), Siena College (Loudonville, NY), Niagara University (Lewiston, NY, Vincentian like DePaul and St. John's), Canisius College (Buffalo, NY), Duquesne University of the Holy Spirit (Pittsburgh, PA), Loyola University Maryland (Baltimore, MD) would be good Eastern choices.
