Oliver Purnell resigns after five seasons at DePaul

The Blue Demons lost 11 of their final 12 games this season.

Oliver Purnell has resigned from DePaul after five seasons, the school announced Saturday.

Purnell released a statement thanking DePaul for his time as head coach.

DePaul Athletic Director Jean Lenti-Ponsetto also thanked Purnell in a statement.

Purnell compiled a record of 54-105 in his time at DePaul, including 15-75 in Big East play.

DePaul lost 11 of their final 12 games this season.
