Angel Delgado named Big East Rookie of the Year

The Seton Hall newcomer's outstanding season was recognized on Wednesday afternoon.

Seton Hall Pirates freshman forward Angel Delgado is the 2015 Big East Rookie of the Year.

Per a release from the conference, the newcomer from the Dominican Republic and St. Patrick's School in New Jersey was stellar in the 2014-15 season. Delgado was named as the Big East's Rookie of the Week three times this past season, averaging 9.3 points and 9.9 rebounds, a conference high. He also amassed 10 double-doubles, which led the Big East, and had seven during league play.

Delgado is the second Seton Hall Pirate to be named as Big East Rookie of the Year, joining Eddie Griffin who won the award in 2001.
