Butler announces 2014-2015 nonconference schedule

Among other matchups, Bulldogs to play Indiana in the annual “Crossroads Classic” on December 20.

The Butler Bulldogs released their 2014-2015-nonconference schedule last Friday, and for the most part there were no surprises.

As has been known since December, Butler will be in arguably the most loaded Thanksgiving week tournament: The Battle 4 Atlantis. Seeding for that tournament has not yet been decided, but it's a safe bet that if Butler makes it to the final, they'd be seeing Florida or Wisconsin along the way.

UPDATE: Butler will see North Carolina in their opening round game, if they advance they'll face the winner of UCLA/Oklahoma. Full bracket here

Another big game on the Bulldogs' schedule is their contest on December 14 with TennesseeAnnounced in April as a home-and-home series, Butler will head to Knoxville this year, while Tennessee will be at Hinkle Fieldhouse in 2015.

The timing for the Tennessee game is interesting, if for no other reason it immediately precedes the annual most anticipated game on Butler's nonconference schedule (in even-numbered years, at least). That being their Crossroads Classic tilt with the Indiana Hoosiers on December 20. You may remember the last time these two teams met.
