Just a few thoughts on our ballot for this week.

• There's really no sense in getting too worked up about Oklahoma, Alabama, and LSU. We'll keep bumping them up and down as they impress us. LSU is a solid #1 with the body of work they have. Alabama has an equally smothering defense, and now the offense is getting better every week. Oklahoma looked bored against Kansas, but it will have plenty of opportunities to impress down the stretch. 
• We dropped Clemson for letting a listless Maryland team hang around and for needing (another) Herculean effort from Sammy Watkins to win the game. We were also pretty hard on Georgia Tech for losing to a very, very mediocre Virginia team. We honestly don't know how that happened. We were also hard on Illinois for losing to Ohio State despite the Buckeyes completing just four passes.
• We left South Carolina in the poll because we didn't want to punish them for an injury to Marcus Lattimore, but it'll be interesting to see if they hang around with a handful of tough games still on the schedule. The Gamecocks control their own SEC East destiny, but without Lattimore and with Connor Shaw at quarterback, it suddenly gets a lot tougher. 
• We have no problem ranking Cincinnati and Rutgers. We had Rutgers and Cincinnati last week and both keep winning.
