Official PS3 Big East Online Dynasty Thread

Ok guys, this is going to be the official thread for the Online Dynasty for the time being. If you got an invite to the dynasty already, forget about it because I have to delete it and start over. Guys have been moving in and out of this thing so before we can start we need some official commitments below.

Gary Busey's Big East will be split into North and South Divisions.

North: Cincinnati, Notre Dame, Pittsburgh, Rutgers, Syracuse and Temple

South: Central Florida, Houston, Louisville, South Florida, TCU and West Virginia.

The conference championship will be played at the stadium of the team with the better record.

I chose a roster that has only the names plugged in, no ratings have been changed. If you are missing players because they were medical redshirts or some other legitimate reason, let me know and we will figure out how to get them on your team (and no they won't be Superman).

Playbooks: Custom playbooks are allowed. Have at it.

The interception sliders have been tuned down but if people start averaging 70 points a game vs. the CPU, I'm setting them higher.

I believe those rosters are just the basic plugging in of the names. No player edits or players added. Obviously other rosters will come out soon that are probably a lot more up to date, depth chart wise, position changes, transfers, etc.

i don’t see the dynasty listed on ps3 the only online dynasty that starts with “G” is “GingerFoxx” and I don’t see any with builttospill94 as the commissioner.

I'm still in.

One complaint — the All-American mode has some of the same issues that made me stop using it last year. Namely, pass defense that borders on unfair. Guys who are have their back turned when you throw the ball somehow know that you threw it, then turn around and break passes up. Linemen with 30" verticals and linebackers who can somehow jump sideways 15 feet from a standing position. You can tell this isn’t based on physics, it’s just “oh this character is somewhere near the ball, they can defend it.”

Turning the sliders down won’t really fix any of that. The only way to get around it is to go down to Varsity and turn the sliders up higher. The AI is lower and your guys will blow some coverages, but at least that’s more realistic.

Oh sorry. I'm USF and my gamertag is untexan.

Also I think I found the sweet spot where the coverage is good but not clairvoyant. Turn the Pass Defense and Interceptions sliders down to about 15 or 20 on All-American and it’s good. I tried Varsity with them both turned up to 100 and it was still a bit too easy.

What's the word on things like custom playbooks and rosters with names?

Obviously jacking up all your players to 99’s across the board isn’t going to happen. But are we adding players who should be in the game but aren’t? (A.J. Love comes to mind.)

I'd like to update at least once every couple of days.

I’d also like to see no restarts. I’m giving a pass on weeks 1 and 2 so people can get used to the game but after that, don’t do it.

But this is hard. USF beat Toledo 16-7 and I went down to the wire with Western Michigan. It’s not really anything but the GDing passing that is slowing me down. You quite literally cannot throw anything that is over the middle. It’s all out routes and slants. Hard to deep pass as well.

and we can’t go to varsity with sliders turned all the way up because it’s too easy.

I don't even bother with recruiting on this game

intensive research on the last one showed it to be a complete and utter waste of time. I set to to cpu help and go win. That gets you as good or better recruits than hours playing that mind numbing mode.

I wouldnt go that far

I couldnt adapt to online head to head play against Cincy. I took a beating. I havnt played online in a while before that and everything is so much slower than playing against the CPU. Besides it was just a perfect storm for TCU, they had me 7-0 at halftime then I opened up a can on them in the 2nd. They fumbled a kickoff for one of the TDs

Momentum?

Did anyone else notice a huge momentum factor in their games? It seems to me that if I struggle, I continue to struggle the entire game but if I take over a game, it gets easier and easier. For instance, in the first half of my game against TCU, I think I maybe got 1 first down. They were swarming me. Then in the 2nd half I battled yard by yard for long scoring drive to tie the game at 7. Then TCU fumbled the ensuing kickoff which I returned for a TD. Then, after that it just seemed like I was playing a MAC team. I just dominated them the rest of the game. Ive also think this may have been happening in my previous games now that I think about it. Is this a feature they implemented into the game does anyone know or just chance? Either way it is pretty cool and realistic.

Did you see the 9+ ypc or did you miss that? I had no reason to pass on the kid when his defense couldn’t stop me running it. If I needed to I had him constantly run blitzing and could’ve went over the top but didn’t feel the need to risk an INT with the lead.

BTW did I PO you when I decided to drain the clock in the fourth (I had the ball w/ about four minutes to go off a pick, used VA and my FB to bleed the clock down to :30 to kick the GW FG)?
