Villanova guard Mikal Bridges and Xavier forward Naji Marshall have been named the Big East Player and Freshman of the Week, respectively.
Bridges had one of his best games of the season in Villanova’s win over Xavier in Cincinnati on Saturday, knocking down ten of his 15 shots and leading the Wildcats with a team-high 25 points against their top-five foes. Bridges also had 19 points earlier in the week in Villanova’s loss to Providence.
On the other side of the Villanova/Xavier showdown was the Big East’s Freshman of the Week: Naji Marshall.
Marshall had 11 points and eight rebounds against Villanova, but had a career-high 20 in Xavier’s win over Seton Hall earlier in the week.
