Kamar Baldwin, a three-star shooting guard from Georgia, is yet another addition to the stunning 2016 class by Butler, joining Joey Brunk and Henry Baddley. He had also received offers from Ole Miss, Clemson and Providence before making his final choice.
Baldwin led his high school team to three state tournament appearances and racked up 2,593 points and 1,002 rebounds in his high school career. He averaged a double-double his senior year with 29.6 points and 10.8 rebounds per game.
Baldwin made his presence known last July in the Adidas Uprising summer championships in Las Vegas with a 27 point performance during one game attended by future head coach Chris Holtmann.
Listed at 6’0’’ and 170 pounds, Baldwin will look to bring a new backcourt presence and possibly fill the huge shoes left behind by the recently graduated Kellen Dunham.
His three-point shooting and ability to drive the basket will make him a great asset on the floor this season. He is also listed as a dual guard but will need to refine his point guard skills if he hopes to continue to vie for that position at Butler.
Until the 2016-2017 season begins, we can all just watch Baldwin drop dimes in this summer mixtape.
