Confirming a report from earlier in the week, Providence athletics announced on Friday that Kris Dunn is returning for the 2015-16 season.
The 2014-15 Co-Big East Player of the Year, who averaged 15.8 points, 7.6 assists and 5.6 rebounds per game decided to forgo a shot at being a mid-level lottery pick in the 2015 NBA Draft and instead stick it out in Friartown as Providence continues to chase the elusive Big East regular season championship.
The New London, Connecticut is a bona fide candidate for Big East Player of the Year again next year, and could perhaps even be in contention for the National Player of the Year award as well if things go well enough.
This is, obviously, terrific news for the Big East Conference, the Friars, and Friar fans. So let's party!
