Scout.com's Evan Daniels reported Monday that the No. 1 power forward in the Class of 2015 is ready to make his much-anticipated commitment decision.
Cheick Diallo, a 6-foot-9, 218-pound power forward from Centereach, New York is a five-star recruit on 247Sports' Composite Rankings and has been much sought after by some of the top schools in the country. The Kansas Jayhawks, Kentucky Wildcats and Iowa State Cyclones are in play for his services, as well as the Big East Conference's St. John's Red Storm who have pushed hard for Diallo since Chris Mullin took over as the Red Storm's head coach.
In recent weeks, the Red Storm have gained traction on Diallo, with the acquisition of Matt Abdelmassih as Mullin's assistant coach likely playing a big role. However, Kansas has pushed ahead of St. John's in 247Sports' Crystal Ball predictions with a 34-29 percent edge. Kentucky is holding strong with a 26 percent mark while Iowa State and the Pittsburgh Panthers are at 6.0 and 3.0 percent respectively.
There's no telling where the big man will go, but what's certain is that there is a lot at stake and much will be made about who can land his services.
