ESPN experimenting with in-studio broadcasts
For the BYU-Pepperdine game last night on ESPN, John Brickley and Mo Cassara did not call the game from Provo, Utah. They were back in ESPN's headquarters in Bristol, CT. Fans could tell right away on the broadcast that the ESPN team was not there due to a lack of crowd noise heard on the broadcast. This is not the first time or the first sport that the network has done this for and with 2,700 games being broadcasted by ESPN this year, they could use the method more often. What are your thoughts on this? Does it take away from the broadcast?
