Hope was dwindling for the Big East Conference as the NBA Draft neared its completion. But before the final pick was made, the conference was able to net another draft pick in the second round.
6-foot-3 point guard Semaj Christon, a former Xavier Musketeer, was selected by the Charlotte Hornets via an earlier trade with the Miami Heat. Interestingly enough, a player formerly from the Big East was involved, as it was Connecticut's Shabazz Napier who was traded to Miami after being selected with the No. 24 pick in the 1st Round.
Christon averaged 17.0 points and 4.2 assists per game in his sophomore season with the Xavier Musketeers, helping lead the team to a First Four appearance in the 2014 NCAA Tournament.
