2015 Spring Valley High School (SC) point guard Perry Dozier Jr. has taken all of his official visits and is set to make a decision between Wednesday and the upcoming weekend, a source told Big East Coast Bias.
The 6-foot-5 prospect was at Georgetown with both Hoya commits Marcus Derrickson and Jessie Govan when he took his official visit during Hoya Madness. That visit was a succesful one for him, not only because he got to see how Georgetown will use him and see the area, but also was able to see Hoya freshman L.J. Peak, who is also a native of South Carolina.
Multiple people that Big East Coast Bias have talked to has informed us that the three schools that are currently in the mix for the top player in the state of South Carolina are Georgetown, Louisville, and South Carolina. North Carolina had a chance, but with the current academic scandal going on, they are looking to be more of an unattractive fit.
South Carolina is reportedly leading the race at the moment, but Georgetown has a high chance with what they have going on for them. Playing with those big men is really a key, but from South Carolina's point of view, Dozier will be the face of that program under head coach Frank Martin.
Fellow Class of 2015 shooting guard Donovan Mitchell, who committed to Louisville in August, has been wanting Dozier to join him for a while. Sources told Big East Coast Bias that Georgetown will be come down to South Carolina to make a final pitch before he decides. And from our friends at Casual Hoya, that appears to be occurring this Wednesday.
Below is Dozier's summer mixtape.
