Isaiah Briscoe, the No. 1 point guard in the Class of 2015, has decided to cut his list to three, and the St. John's Red Storm are still in the mix.
Briscoe, who plans on choosing a school earlier than the spring and has taken an official visit to all three schools, chose the Red Storm along with the Kentucky Wildcats and Connecticut Huskies, the National Runner up and Champion from last year. Briscoe took to Twitter to make the announcement.
StJohns Kentucky Uconn !!! DREAM BIG

Briscoe is taking a huge step in the recruiting process, but it obviously all comes down to what he likes about the school and who will continue to make a push. It was pretty clear that St. John's would make it because it's near his hometown of Newark, New Jersey, and head coach Steve Lavin has been recruiting Briscoe for a long time. Connecticut are the defending champions, and Kevin Ollie played in the NBA for 13 years, which are obvious enticements in it of themselves.
Both Kentucky, who jumped into the recruitment process late, and UConn have high-end programs, but St. John's is trying to finagle their way to a high level in the Big East, and getting Briscoe would make them a top team if he commits there.
Briscoe may pull the trigger and sign in November, or wait until the spring. Signing in the spring seems like it would be the best thing, because he wants to see who departs from the school and ideally, that comes in the spring months when everyone makes their decisions on fi they plan to head towards making a professional career. However, the bad thing about that is spots may be taken by that time.
Below is an update on how Briscoe is doing.
