Incoming Seton Hall Pirates guard Isaiah Whitehead, a five-star shooting guard and the best recruit in the state of New York in the Class of 2014, was named as the Preseason Big East Rookie of the Year by the conference's head coaches on Wednesday.
Whitehead, who was named "Mr. Basketball" in New York, was also a McDonald's All-American in 2014 and is one of the most coveted recruits that the Pirates have had in some time.
It should come as no surprise that the 6-foot-4 guard is already gaining attention amongst the Big East, and it should be a matter of time until that translates nationally.
