2015-16 Big East Conference schedule released

Rejoice!

Noah K. Murray-USA TODAY Sports

Our long national nightmare is over.

The Big East Conference has unveiled the 2015-16 edition of the schedule for this coming season. After much anticipation, the details have been fleshed out as we now turn our attention to late December when all of the festivities are set to begin. Or mid-November, if you're into that whole nonconference thing.

While there will be games played on New Year's Eve as we've seen in 2013 and 2014, the annual marathon will instead be taking place on January 2, 2016. With several major events taking in the spotlight on New Year's Eve -- namely the College Football Playoff - it only makes sense to shift the attention elsewhere.

The marathon is highlighted by a primetime matchup between Villanova and Creighton, which will be played at 10 p.m. ET in Omaha.

You can view the full release from the conference here. We'll have our reactions and analyses of the schedules in the coming days and weeks. Stay tuned to Big East Coast Bias through the thick of it.

UPDATE (1:25 p.m. ET): The Big East has released a PDF file of the composite schedule. You can view it here.
