ESPN's Big East Bowl Projections

Andrea Adelson put up her preseason Bowl Projections for the Big East on the Big East blog at ESPN today.

As you probably expected, West Virginia is again the pick to win the league and take the BCS bid (Orange Bowl vs. ACC).

The NCAA Football 12 simulation of the 2011 season, Brian Bennett and Adelson think that Notre Dame will not be going to the BCS this year and that means the Irish are taking the Big East's Champs Sports Bowl bid. Click here to see the Big East bowl tie-ins and schedule for the 2011 season.

Louisville is going to the Belk Bowl vs. ACC.

Pittsburgh winds up in the Pinstripe Bowl vs. Big 12.

South Florida will matchup against an SEC team in the BBVA Compass Bowl.

Syracuse will play in the Beef 'O' Brady's Bowl against a CUSA team.

Cincinnati and Connecticut are at large teams. Those two teams and the Orange were all projected to finish 3-4 in conference and tied for fourth. Syracuse got the bowl nod because they were "the most appealing option."

Rutgers...no bowl.

If you think the above projection puts too many Big East teams in the postseason, remember that time Mengus came up with the scenario that put every Big East team in a bowl game?
