The New York Post is reporting that Big East invitations to Boise State and Temple "are imminent." Do we believe it? That is another story entirely. If the Big East ever makes a move that happens quickly, we will be blown away. Remember how the UCF invite could have happened as early as today, or maybe even this week? Well, nothing is happening on the UCF front today.
The Post points out that Temple is in the home of Comcast, Philadelphia. We'll point out that the Boston College athletic director apologized for his comments that made it seem like ESPN (current Big East media partner) was pulling the strings on ACC expansion.
Temple was included in an earlier post today mapping out the tentative Big East football divisions with expansion to 12 teams, but Boise State was not. That does not mean that Boise State is out of the running, but the chances of the Broncos joining the Big East have been reported as slim to none to now plausible, depending on your outlet.
