The DePaul Blue Demons are now in on a Class of 2021 power forward.
The Blue Demons’ coaching staff sent an offer towards First Love Christian Academy power forward Mustapha Amzil. The news of Amzil’s offer came to us from StockRisers’ Jake Weingarten:
DePaul has now offered Mustapha Amzil, he told @Stockrisers. NC State and Indiana have also joined Kansas as a new school to show interest. He’s a national recruit. https://t.co/IP2UJhtp8V

Amzil, originally from Kotka, Finland, is a 6-foot-10, 215-pound power forward who’s been gaining lots of attention lately. DePaul was not the only school to offer him on Wednesday, as the North Carolina State Wolfpack also offered him as well. Additionally, Amzil has a standing offer from another Big East program in the St. John’s Red Storm. Also, he holds offers from the Oklahoma State Cowboys, Kansas State Wildcats, Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets, Pittsburgh Panthers, Boston College Eagles, Maryland Terrapins and the Dayton Flyers.
Amzil is currently unlisted and unranked on 247Sports Composite and their standalone rankings. That being said, he is clearly gaining recognition with all the high-major offers he’s received in the month of October.
DePaul now has 18 open offers in the 2021 class per their Verbal Commits page. They don’t have any spots left though, so it is a bit interesting that they have offered Amzil. Perhaps we’ll learn some sort of development in the future, but for now, we’ll see how things play out.
