The DePaul Blue Demons netted an addition to their 2022 recruiting class on Sunday.

Preston Murphy Jr. announced that he’s committed to Dave Leitao and the Blue Demons. Murphy Jr., a Top 200 player in the Class of 2022, made the announcement on his personal Twitter account:

Murphy is a native of Omaha, Nebraska and an attendee of St. Andrews School in Rhode Island. He is rated as a three-star recruit in the Class of 2022 by both 247Sports’ standalone rankings and their composite rankings, as well. He is the top-rated recruit in the state of Nebraska in 2022 as it stands right now. In addition, Murphy ranks 35th amongst all point guards, and sits 196th in the country in the class.

Murphy had received previous offers from the Bryant Bulldogs, Buffalo Bulls, Clemson Tigers, Massachusetts Minutemen, Rhode Island Rams, Siena Saints, and the UNLV Runnin’ Rebels prior to his commitment to the Blue Demons.

Thus far, he is the first player to commit to DePaul in the 2022 cycle. As of right now, they have two open spots left for 2022 per their Verbal Commits page.
