Creighton returns to action against Kennesaw State

The Bluejays will improve to 3-0 following Friday’s win over Kennesaw State

NCAA Basketball: Oral Roberts at Creighton Steven Branscombe-USA TODAY Sports

The Creighton Bluejays will improve to 3-0 Friday afternoon following their game against the Kennesaw State Owls.

As far as Division I vs. Division I matchups, this is perhaps the biggest mismatch we’ve seen so far this season in college basketball. The Bluejays have had the nation’s sixth best offense this season in teams of offensive efficiency. Kennesaw State come into the game ranked #332 in defense and a dismal 353rd in offense in the nation. Last season, the Owls finished 351st in offense. They have won one game against a Division I opponent since March 2019, defeating Gardner Webb last December, Kennesaw State’s only win of the season.

Kennesaw State does have two wins this season, coming against two schools named Carver and Toccoa Falls.

Generally in these previews, you want to present the teams as both having strengths and weaknesses and both having possibilities to win. It’s just not going to happen, here. Creighton will likely have a similar game to their win over Omaha the other day. A lot of assists, a lot of threes, and more and more involvement of Jacob Epperson and Ryan Kalkbrenner.
