The Mohegan Sun Arena was home to one Big East team last week as the Villanova Wildcats played three games there, winning two of them. Now the arena will also be hosting another team from the conference, as the UConn Huskies will be taking part of the Legends Classic, which started on Tuesday.

The Huskies enter the event undefeated after winning their first two games. They rolled past Central Connecticut in their season opener 102-75 while shooting 55.9 percent from the field. Then in their most recent game they beat Hartford 69-57 thanks to their guards. James Bouknight scored 18 and Jalen Gaffney dropped 15 as the Huskies had four players scoring in double digits. This game took place after Vanderbilt withdrew from the Legends Classic. Now Dan Hurley and his team will look to go 3-0 as they take on an undefeated nonconference opponent in the USC Trojans.

They started their season with two home wins against California Baptist and Montana respectively. The first one was a bit of a scare for USC as their WAC opponents pushed them to overtime but survived with a 95-87 victory. They had an easier time beating the Grizzlies thanks to a first half where the Trojans outscored their opponents 44-25 in route to a 76-62 victory. Then in their most recent game, they thrashed BYU 79-53 in the opening game of the Legends Classic. USC got 19 points from Drew Peterson along with double doubles from both Evan and Isaiah Mobley. They will be looking for their fourth straight win of the season against UConn.
