Creighton and Villanova remain fixtures in the AP Top 25 this week.

The two best in the Big East rank 10th and 14th in this week’s poll. Both teams took slight hits from their standings last week, as ‘Nova dropped to 10th from eighth, while the Bluejays fell from 13th down to 14th.

Each team had a 1-1 week, winning their midweek games before falling on the weekend. ‘Nova started off the week with an 81-58 drubbing of the feisty St. John’s Red Storm. Meanwhile, Creighton roughed up the DePaul Blue Demons on Wednesday night 77-53. Both blowout wins were not indicators of future successes, however. The Wildcats fell 73-61 at Hinkle Fieldhouse, a house of horrors for ‘Nova over the last few years. And elsewhere, Creighton lost on the road in Cincinnati to the Xavier Musketeers.

Nevertheless, both teams stand within the Top 15, and aren’t too far off from their KenPom standings either. ‘Nova is 10th on KP, while Creighton is sitting 15th, just one slot below their place in the poll.

The only other team to receive votes this week was the UConn Huskies. The Huskies received five points from their vote tallies this week.
