The 5-seed Villanova Wildcats will take the court Sunday night seeking their seventh trip to the Sweet Sixteen under head coach Jay Wright.

Awaiting ‘Nova will be the 13-seed North Texas Mean Green, who pulled off a stunning upset of Purdue on Friday evening to get to this point. The Mean Green were led by Javion Hamlet, who had 24 points, 12 rebounds, and five assists, doing a little bit of everything for the Mean Green.

On a similar note, Jeremiah Robinson-Earl did a bit of everything in Nova’s first round victory over Winthrop. The sophomore center led the Wildcats in scoring (22), rebounding (11), assists (6), and blocks (3) as Villanova won it’s first game since Collin Gillespie’s season-ending MCL injury suffered in the last week of the regular season.

The Wildcats match up well against North Texas, but need to be weary of letting the Mean Green start getting hot from deep. North Texas’s 37.7 three-point shooting percentage is eighth-best among remaining NCAA Tournament teams.

If Villanova can pick up the victory, they will meet #1 Baylor later this week.
