The DePaul Blue Demons (4-12, 2-12) will see their regular season come to a close Tuesday evening as they look to finish the season sweep of the Marquette Golden Eagles (11-13, 6-11).
January 21’s 68-61 DePaul win marked the first conference victory of the season for the Blue Demons, as Javon Freeman-Liberty and Charlie Moore combined for 40 of DePaul’s 68 points and went a perfect 15-15 from the free throw line.
Neither of these teams have been particularly good this year, and I think both fanbases are just eager to get to the finish line and move onto whatever may be next for the programs.
Marquette seemed to be turning a corner with relatively easy wins over Butler and North Carolina, but took another step back with a loss to UConn over the weekend, as consistency issues plague the Golden Eagles.
DePaul has struggled to score points this season, and their offense is the worst it’s been in the KenPom era, checking in at #245 in the nation in Adjusted Offensive Efficiency at 98.8.
