Marquette Golden Eagles guard Andrew Rowsey and Villanova Wildcats center Omari Spellman have been issued the final Big East weekly awards for the 2017-18 season, the conference announced Sunday.
Rowsey played a pivotal role in Marquette’s 2-0 week. He had 28 points in the victory over Georgetown, including singlehandedly outscoring the Hoyas in overtime, 9-8. Then, in his final regular season game as a Golden Eagle, Rowsey carried the team to a huge victory over Creighton, hitting big shot after big shot en route to a 26 point, eight rebound, eight assist performance.
Spellman continued to impress for Jay Wright’s bunch, averaging 9.5 points and 10 rebounds per game in the Wildcats’ two victories. Spellman hauled in a season-high 14 boards in Villanova’s overtime win against Seton Hall.
