Al Eichelberger to transfer from DePaul

A spot opens up on the Blue Demons roster as a rising sophomore is headed elsewhere.

Scout.com’s Evan Daniels is reporting that DePaul Blue Demons forward Al Eichelberger intends to transfer from the program.

The Saginaw, Michigan native averaged 1.7 points and 1.2 rebounds per game in his freshman season while playing 8.2 minutes per game. He picked up a season high eight points against Chicago State on December 17, 2016, a game that the Blue Demons won rather handily.

As a result of Eichelberger’s departure, the frontcourt looks a little bit more depleted. The only players on the roster down low now are incoming freshmen Jaylen Butz and Paul Reed, sophomore Levi Cook, Marin Maric and Tre’Darius McCallum. Plans will certainly have to shift for DePaul to address this sudden area of need going forward.

In the meantime, best of luck to Al Eichelberger wherever he may land.
