NCAA Basketball: NCAA Tournament-Seton Hall vs Gonzaga Ron Chenoy-USA TODAY Sports

Following a successful college basketball career at Western Kentucky, UMass, and Seton Hall, Derrick Gordon has decided to forgo playing professionally in favor of a different career path — fighting fires.

In his one season with the Pirates, Gordon appeared in all 34 games and averaged 8.0 points per game in a sixth man role. As one of the only seniors on the roster, Gordon’s leadership and experience played a key role in the youthful Pirates making their first NCAA Tournament this decade.
