With the 51st pick in the 2016 NBA Draft, the Boston Celtics have selected Providence forward Ben Bentil.
Bentil burst onto the scene last season, leading the Big East in scoring with 21.2 points per game.
Our own Mike Hopkins had the following to say about Bentil in his scouting report,
Bentil’s strength is his offensive ability. He measured well enough at the NBA Combine to fall into the small-ball 4 position that is all the rage in the NBA at the moment. He didn't shoot an overly high percentage from 3-point range, but he does have that range that can make him more versatile in pick and roll situations. Bentil beat his opponent down the floor in transition routinely in college and that speed and athleticism will serve him well. He also did the most reps on the bench press at the NBA Combine.
Bentil is the eighth Providence player selected by the Celtics since 1963.
