Following his decision to commit to the Xavier Musketeers on Wednesday night, Jared Ridder took the time to discuss his decision (and some other things) with Big East Coast Bias.
Big East Coast Bias: What made you commit to Xavier?
Jared Ridder: Xavier stood out to me from the beginning. Coach Mack came to visit me at open gym and we got the chance to sit down and talk. That showed me a lot about the type of person he was and the type of program they have. Then when I took my visit, right when I stepped on campus I felt at home. They showed me everything and I loved everything about it.
BECB: Are there any basketball players, past or present, you try to model your game after?
Ridder: I haven't really tried to model my game after anyone, but I love to watch Klay Thompson and Kyle Korver.
BECB: What level of familiarity do you have with the Big East?
Ridder: I've gained a lot of knowledge of the Big East over the past few months. Xavier wasn't the only Big East program recruiting me. I would say it's one of the best conferences in the country.
BECB: What summer tournaments will you be participating in?
Ridder: I'll be playing in Peach Jam, Great American Shootout in Dallas, Las Vegas, and in Kansas City.
