Smith will retain three years of eligibility.

Sophomore forward Quadree Smith will be transferring from Providence, the school announced on Wednesday afternoon.

Smith, a late addition to Providence's 2015 class, averaged 1.7 points and 1.1 rebound in 5.1 minutes per game for the Friars last season.

Smith will sit out one year and retain three years of eligibility. Per Big East rules, Smith will not be allowed to transfer to any of the other nine Big East institutions.

Providence now has an extra open scholarship for the class of 2016, as they seem focused on forward Kalif Young.
