St. John's, Syracuse men's basketball to continue home-and-home series in December at Carrier Dome

The rivalry continues on...

The Syracuse Orange and St. John's Red Storm will reportedly meet at the Carrier Dome on December 21, 2016 according to CBS Sports' Jon Rothstein. Rothstein indicates that the matchup between the two New York programs will shift from Madison Square Garden in Manhattan to the Carrier Dome in upstate New York where they met back in 2014.

The Red Storm are on a two-game winning streak in the rivalry after a shocking victory this past December. It was one of the most surprising results of the entire 2015-16 season as the woeful Red Storm were able to knock off the Orange at MSG, and for a team that would go on to make the Final Four it was perhaps both confounding and embarrassing.

This year's tilt should prove to be intriguing as St. John's no doubt will have more talent at their disposal this time around compared to last. Head coach Chris Mullin and his staff have done a good job of rallying and recruiting talent to Queens and they could be something of a wild card. The Orange will look a little bit different without Trevor Cooney and Michael Gbinije among others, but should still be a threat in some areas.

Since 1949-50, Syracuse leads the all-time series 49-36.
