The DePaul Blue Demons' 2016-17 schedule got two new additions over the last 24 hours.
In a press release sent by the DePaul basketball program, the Blue Demons announced they would be taking on the Robert Morris Colonials in their 2016-17 season opener. The Blue Demons have never faced the Colonials before, dating back to 1949-50 according to Sports-Reference.com, so a little bit of history will be made when these two teams take the floor at McGrath-Phillips Arena.
Also in the news is DePaul's next matchup vs. Northwestern. CBS Sports college basketball insider Jon Rothstein issued a tweet out on Tuesday afternoon that the scheduled meeting between DePaul and the Wildcats would be taking place later this year on December 3 as part of an annual series agreed upon between the two programs that started last year when the Blue Demons went to Evanston to match up with their in-state foes from the Big Ten Conference.
Northwestern will host DePaul on December 3rd, sources told @CBSSports. Part of annual series.

This nearly takes out DePaul's entire nonconference schedule, as White and Blue Review's schedule would suggest. There may be one more matchup remaining in the form of one vs. Loyola Chicago but if we are to believe the reports that have come out about these games, then we're just about set here. Their opening round games in the Las Vegas Classic also remain to be seen as they will face either Southeast Missouri State, Detroit, Chicago State or Cornell as W&BR would indicate.
Update: Per Patrick Marshall of W&BR, there are slots for two more games, and three if the Loyola Chicago game doesn't come to fruition.
@becb_sbn Actually DePaul has slots for 2 more games. 3 if the Loyola rumors are untrue. LV Classic games count as 1 basically.
