If you were a Big East fan in the 1980s, there are three names you know for certain: Patrick Ewing, Chris Mullin, and Dwayne "Pearl" Washington.
Those three men provided hours of highlight and entertainment for their respective schools and fanbases.
Washington, the former Syracuse Orange standout, passed away Wednesday at the age of 52 after a battle with brain cancer.
Washington was a "playground legend", long before the days of AND-1 mixtapes. He built a reputation as the top ranked player in the class of 1983, and committed to Jim Boeheim's Orange instead of his local St. John's Red Storm.
Below is a great video of Washington's career highlights. Watch it. It's worth your time.
Rest easy, Pearl.
