2016 NCAA Tournament: Butler vs. Virginia halftime notes

At the end of the first half, Butler leads by as score of 25-23.

With a trip to Chicago and the Sweet 16 on the line, Butler leads Virginia early on in what has been a low scoring affair.  Here is what occurred in the first half.

Butler

  • Andrew Chrabascz has been the man so far for the Bulldogs, as he leads with 12 points so far on the night.
  • Both Kelan Martin and Kellan Dunham have been quiet so far this game.  Martin so far in 1-of-5 on the night, while Dunham has gotten his first points in the dying minutes of the first half.
  • As a team, Butler so far has shot the ball at a rate of 45.5% from the floor, 40% from 3-point range, and 50.0% from the foul line.

Virginia

  • Malcolm Brogdon has been the go to man so far for the Hoos.  Brogdon so far has eight points on the game,
  • Much in the same vain as Butler, Virginia has been stifled so far on offense.  London Perrantes has been Virginia's best secondary option with five points so far on the game.
  • As a team, Viriginia so far has shot the ball at a rate of 41.7% from the floor, 20.0% from 3-point range, and 100.0% from the foul line.
