After 20 back-and-forth minutes in Raleigh, the Butler Bulldogs lead the Texas Tech Red Raiders 30-28 in the first round of the NCAA tournament.


  • Kellen Dunham has been huge for the Bulldogs. He has a game-leading 13 points.
  • Butler's leading scorer this season, Kelan Martin, was held scoreless in the first half, Roosevelt Jones has only one point.
  • The Bulldogs lead the rebounding battle by an 18-12 margin.

Texas Tech

  • Aaron Ross leads the Red Raiders with eight points.
  • Texas Tech led for most of the first part of the half, smothering Butler on defense before the Bulldogs eventually pulled ahead.
  • Part of Texas Tech's early lead came from their ability to force turnovers. They forced nine in the half.
