DePaul vs. Villanova halftime notes

It's been The Kris Jenkins Show, presented live in technicolor.

DePaul

~ Eli Cain has posted gaudy numbers once again. The Willingboro, New Jersey native has 14 points in the first half, cruising against the usually stifling Villanova defense. He's succeeded at the perimeter mostly, shooting 3-for-4 from outside, looking every bit like he's played of late in this recent stretch of play.

~ Cain is helping lead the Blue Demons offensively. Through the first half, they're shooting 12-for-22 (.545) and 6-for-9 (.667) from the 3-point line. Their free throw shooting could be going better - just 60 percent on five attempts - but all in all, from an offensive standpoint, things are going pretty well.

~ DePaul trails Villanova 16-4 in points in the paint, 6-2 in fast break points and 7-2 in bench points. They are outrebounding the Wildcats though, currently holding a 13-9 advantage in that department.

Villanova

~ Kris Jenkins, like Cain, is putting up big numbers. 'Big Smooth' has 20 first half points, marking the sixth time the junior forward has posted 20 or more points in a game this season. The Upper Marlboro, Maryland native shot 7-for-9 from the field, and 5-for-7 from the 3-point line.

~ Josh Hart has 11 points for the Wildcats on a 5-for-7 mark from the field. The usual, balanced effort has put Villanova up big at the half, as four players have six or more points at the break.

~ 'Nova holds an edge in field goal percentage as they've posted a 19-for-28 mark from the field as a team. Additionally, they lead in free throw percentage with a mark of 71.4 percent but have attempted just two more foul shots than their foe.
