The Pirates had a huge week, knocking both Providence and No. 5 Xavier off at home and the Brooklyn, New York native was a major reason why. The 6-foot-4, 210-pound Abraham Lincoln High School alum dropped an average of 23.5 points in both Pirate victories including a 25-point outburst vs. the Friars.
Scoring was not the only area that Whitehead excelled in. The sophomore guard was efficient in the victory over the Friars, shooting 8-for-12 and 4-for-4 from the free throw line. His numbers were down against Xavier, shooting just 5-for-15, but was 9-for-10 from the free throw line, keeping his FT% at 81.3 percent in conference play thus far.
The Seton Hall guard also averaged 7.0 assists, 4.0 rebounds, 4.0 blocks, and 1.5 steals last week.
