Halftime Notes: Marquette vs. Villanova

Wildcats take 42-37 lead into half at the Bradley Center

1. Josh Hart couldn't hit water from a boat in the Wildcats' midweek loss at Xavier. The junior has yet to miss a shot in today's game. That's what we like to call a bounce back performance.

2. Light a mup mup mup...they're on fiiyyaaahhh. Jay Wright's team hit just about everything from the field in the first half, shooting 59%.

3. Jalen Brunson is growing up right in front of our eyes. The freshman point guard had nine points and four assists on the first half while effectively controlling the offensive tempo for a very experience Villanova squad.

1. The Golden Eagles came ready for a shootout and have done their part. Wojo's club 50% from the field as well as 40% from deep. That hot shooting has been integral in keeping them in a game where they haven't defended particularly well.

2. Henry Ellenson, good at this whole basketball thing. The freshman phenom is at it again for Marquette, posting ten points, 3 boards, and 2 assists in the first half all while bearing the brunt of the focus of Villanova's defense.

3. If you can't beat 'em, Cheatham. Haanif Cheatham has eight at the break for the Golden Eagles and two 3-pointers late in the first half were a big part of his team closing the lead from double digits down to five.
