Villanova remains #1, Xavier up to #5 in AP Poll

Providence dropped out, but the BIG EAST is still well-represented up top

Aaron Doster-USA TODAY Sports
The Villanova Wildcats are the top team in the AP Poll for the third straight week. Villanova, who picked up wins over Temple and Butler this week, received 45 of a possible 65 first-place votes. The Kansas Jayhawks check in at number two and picked up the remaining 20 first-place votes. There is a tie in the third spot, as the Virginia Cavilers and Oklahoma Sooners both sit there. Finally, rounding out the Top 5 are the Xavier Musketeers. Ranked #5 for the third time this season, the Musketeers are tied for their highest ranking in school history. They'll host #1 Villanova on Wednesday night. The rest of the poll can be found below.
