College Basketball Rankings, USA TODAY Coaches Poll: Villanova remains No. 1, Xavier up to No. 5, Providence at No. 24

The teams remain the same, and the spots have changed a lil' bit.

This week's USA TODAY Coaches Poll is out, and there isn't much change up at the top.

For the third straight week, the Villanova Wildcats are the No. 1 team in the country. The Wildcats sped past the rest this past week emerging with a 24-3 record going into this week's action. The 'Cats received 25 first-place votes, with the Kansas Jayhawks receiving the remaining seven.

The Wildcats will be heading to Cincinnati later this week and when they do, they'll be facing a Top 5 team. The Xavier Musketeers are ranked fifth in this week's poll, moving up two spots from the No. 7 position after a wacky week of action. This will set up the first Top 5 matchup in BIG EAST play in quite some time, at least with regards to the Coaches Poll.

Finally, the Providence Friars' slide continues as they dropped to the No. 24 position in the poll. Going down four spots, the Friars still have a healthy lead over No. 25 Texas who received just 66 votes to Providence's 102. That said, another bad week, and the Friars could find themselves on the outside looking in, a far cry from their highest ranking of No. 9 earlier this season.

Full poll coming soon.
