Maurice Watson Jr. is the recipient of this week's Big East Coast Bias Player of the Week award.
The Creighton Bluejays point guard shined bright in this past week's slate of games, aiding the Jays to victories over the Xavier Musketeers and Marquette Golden Eagles. Mo netted seven votes, just edging out Providence Friars sophomore forward Ben Bentil who picked up six after a 42-point performance dazzled everyone vs. Marquette.
Watson Jr. especially shined vs. the then-No. 5 ranked Xavier Musketeers. In front of a rabid crowd at CenturyLink Center Omaha, the Philadelphia native dropped a career-high 32 points along with seven rebounds, five assists and two steals. The Creighton point guard then followed that up with 18 points, 10 assists, five rebounds and two steals in their victory over the Golden Eagles in Milwaukee.
Also receiving a vote this week along with Watson Jr. and Bentil was Butler Bulldogs sophomore guard Kelan Martin.
This marks the second time that Maurice Watson Jr. has taken home the prize, having won the award back on January 11.
