The Stakes
Providence is looking to get their second-straight win over a Rhode Island team, this time against their crosstown rival Brown. The Bears play on the East Side of Providence and Mike Martin owns the only win against an Ed Cooley-coach Providence team at the Dunkin’ Donuts Center by a non-conference opponent.
Brown is looking to get a marquee win to add to their resume in the Ivy League’s first season holding a conference tournament. The Bears also are riding a 4-game winning streak after starting off the season 1-4.
Inside the Numbers
Brown has the 274th Average Height in America and the Bears are especially short across their frontline. As a result, Brown gives up offensive rebounds at a 32.4% clip and they get 12.8% of their shots blocked. Providence is shooting 39.4% from beyond the arc this season, good for 37th nationally. The Friars are getting 34.3% of their points from 3-point baskets.
