Darnell Brodie, a Class of 2017 center, has just committed to Seton Hall.
Scout.com’s Evan Daniels was first on the story, reporting that the Pirates would be picking up their second commit for their 2017 class as Brodie joins Elizabeth, New Jersey’s Myles Cale who committed back in March.
Seton Hall just picked up a commitment from 2017 Putnam Science Academy big man Darnell Brodie.

The skinny on Brodie is that he’s 6-foot-9, 250 pounds and attends the famed Putnam Science Academy in Connecticut. Although his composite ranking isn’t listed, per 247Sports on its own, he’s a three-star recruit and fourth-best player in the state of Connecticut. The company he keeps there is with BU commit Walter Whyte, Georgetown commit Tremont Waters and the highly touted Hamidou Diallo, a teammate of Brodie’s at PSA.
Seton Hall’s class now ranks 7th in the Big East with the addition of Brodie per their projected score via 247Sports’ Class Calculator. They still have some work to do if they want to catch the likes of Xavier, Butler and Villanova and even Creighton, Georgetown and Marquette, but with the Pirates still pursuing Trevon Duval, it’s entirely possible that they can still land one of the most talented players in the entire 2017 class.
