Things have been going pretty well for the Georgetown Hoyas of late. They’ve won five games in a row, and just beat Syracuse at the Carrier Dome last weekend.
The Hoyas will still have some questions to answer in Big East play, but considering they were 2-4 at one point, they did a solid job getting back on track.
Georgetown has a chance to go into Big East play at 8-4 if they can pick up a win over the UNC Greensboro Spartans at the Verizon Center Thursday night.

Preview
UNC Greensboro is one of the better opponents Georgetown has faced since their return from Maui at the end of November. I would hope, given the past couple seasons, the Hoyas have learned not to overlook opponents. Coming off an emotional high in the win over Syracuse, playing this final game before Christmas and Big East play starts... yikes. It has all the makings of a trap game. Hopefully the Hoyas can avoid the trap and take care of business.
The biggest key will be taking care of the basketball. Georgetown has struggled with that at times this year, and UNC Greensboro is one of the best teams in the nation at forcing turnovers.
It will also be interesting to watch if the season-long strong play of Rodney Pryor and LJ Peak continues. Georgetown will certainly need those two to be firing on all cylinders once Big East play begins.
Overall, this is a game Georgetown should win. Hopefully they get it taken care of.
