Things to Watch For

No More Veer

Friday evening, Seton Hall released a statement saying Veer Singh will transfer and seek to play elsewhere. While Singh was a great contributor to the program in terms of his hustle and hard work, he had a difficult time adjusting to the speed of the game in a high-major conference like the Big East.

With Veer gone, Desi Rodriguez remains the only true wing player on the roster. Jevon Thomas becomes eligible to play next week against in state rival Rutgers, so this will give more room for Thomas to fit into the rotation. Seton Hall currently has one more scholarship to distribute for next season as a result of Singh leaving the program, so they will have to make due until then.

Trap Game

Simply put, this is a possible let down scenario for Seton Hall due to a few reasons. First of which is that the team is coming off of a big Top 25 win Monday night. Secondly, there will be hardly any energy in the building on Saturday, as it is finals week at Seton Hall and fans will choose to stay home due to snow being in the forecast and also the fact Delaware is a very weak team.

The focus must be one game at a time, with their big rivalry game coming up against Rutgers next Friday night, so The Hall must emphasize taking care of the Blue Hens first.

Free Throws and Offense

The Hall finally shot decently from the charity stripe against South Carolina, shooting 26-of-36 from the line. It is important for the Pirates to continue to improve from the line with Big East play beginning in two weeks. The Hall must begin to find more offense, or they will not be able to win consistently.

Who will Chris Christie root for?

New Jersey governor Chris Christie, announced earlier in the week on WFAN 660 that he will be attending the game, as he attended Delaware for his undergraduate degree and Seton Hall law school. Interestingly enough, he did not mention Seton Hall once it seems he will be rooting for Delaware.

It will interesting to see how Pirate fans will react. I mean Seton Hall is located in the state he is Governor of he where he attended law school, and yet he will root against them?
