Some movement at the top!

NCAA Basketball: Butler vs Vanderbilt Joshua Dahl-USA TODAY Sports

Welcome to the latest edition of BECB Power Rankings!

We’ve got 17 ballots in this week including ones from our pals at Anonymous Eagle and Rumble in the Garden. 15 members of the BECB staff participated in the voting process this week. Let’s get to the reveal!

10. DePaul Blue Demons

(Score: 9.39; Highest Vote: 8; Lowest Vote: 10; Last Week: 9)

“Even in a week during which they win all their games, DePaul finds themselves back in the bottom of our rankings” - Robert O’Neill

“Didn’t vote for DePaul at the bottom of the conference this week, but can see why some would say that. We’ll see if that changes after this week.” - Chris Novak

9. Georgetown Hoyas

(Score: 9.28; Highest Vote: 8; Lowest Vote: 10; Last Week: 10)

“Imagine if they had lost to Oregon.” - Robert O’Neill

“Imagine if they had lost to Howard.” - Chris Novak

8. St. John’s Red Storm

(Score: 8.35; Highest Vote: 8; Lowest Vote: 9; Last Week: 8)

“Going 0-3 in Atlantis wasn’t ideal, but at least the Red Storm were competitive throughout.” - Robert O’Neill

“On the bright side, Shamorie Ponds and Marcus LoVett look like the real deal.” - Chris Novak

7. Marquette Golden Eagles

(Score: 6.56; Highest Vote: 5; Lowest Vote: 7; Last Week: 6)

“Marquette took care of business and grabbed a pair of much needed wins. The opponents weren’t very good, but that doesn’t matter.” - Robert O’Neill

“So begins a pivotal stretch for Marquette. They’ll need every bit of effort.” - Chris Novak

6. Providence Friars

(Score: 6.33; Highest Vote: 6; Lowest Vote: 7; Last Week: 7)

“Moral victories are dumb, but Providence should feel great about playing Virginia competitively” - Robert O’Neill

“Gave UVA a game and given what’s gone down this year, that’s about all you can ask for right now. The Friars are good.” - Chris Novak

5. Seton Hall Pirates

(Score: 5.11; Highest Vote: 5; Lowest Vote: 6; Last Week: 4)

“Disappointing trip to the Happiest Place on Earth for Seton Hall. I hope they at least got to go on Splash Mountain.” - Chris Novak

“Things went about as poorly as they could in Orlando for Seton Hall.” - Robert O’Neill

4. Xavier Musketeers

(Score: 3.44; Highest Vote: 2; Lowest Vote: 4; Last Week: 3)

“Have an uneasy feeling about this team’s trip to Baylor this weekend. Could get bad. Maybe I’ll be wrong.” - Chris Novak

“Xavier has had several flaws this year and they’re still 6-0. That’s a pretty good team.” - Robert O’Neill

3. Butler Bulldogs

(Score: 3.28; Highest Vote: 2; Lowest Vote: 4; Last Week: 5)

“Butler got, probably, the biggest win for any team in the conference so far with their victory on a neutral floor over Arizona.” - Chris Novak

“Arizona probably was overrated, but that’s still a massive win for the Bulldogs.” - Robert O’Neill

2. Creighton Bluejays (1)

(Score: 2.22; First-Place Votes: 1; Lowest Vote: 4; Last Week: 2)

“Objective for the week for Creighton: Don’t get swept up by the #MACtion” - Chris Novak

“Creighton continues to be really fun to watch on offense.” - Robert O’Neill

1. Villanova Wildcats (16)

(Score: 1.06; First-Place Votes: 16; Lowest Vote: 2; Last Week: 1)

“Villanova went to Charleston and won, and then welcomed Charleston and won. Do they get the keys to the city now?” - Chris Novak

“Ho hum. Another week, another win for Villanova.” - Robert O’Neill
