In their final game before their trip to Las Vegas, the Butler Bulldogs took down the Norfolk State Spartans with relative ease on Monday night.
Powered by five players scoring in double figures, the Bulldogs picked up a 36-point victory over the Spartans, winning to the tune of 91-55.
Sophomore Nate Fowler led the way with a career-high 17 points in the victory. He’d be joined in double digits by Andrew Chrabascz, Kelan Martin, Avery Woodson, and Joey Brunk who added 11, 11, 15 and 10 points respectively.
As a team, the ‘Dawgs shot 19-for-27 on 2-point attempts and an impressive 13-for-28 on 3-point attempts, good for a 46.4 mark from beyond the arc. That’s their second-best outing of the season, followed up by their 53.3 percent night against Bucknell in their last go-around back on Saturday.
With the victory, Butler improves to 4-0 to start the year. It’s the third time in four years that the Bulldogs have started off 4-0, with only last year’s 3-1 start being the anomaly when they dropped their fourth game to the Miami Hurricanes.
